5 dark romance books that will rip your heart out!

These 5 novels will definitely make you cry, so you better get some hankies!!!

Some of you might have had one of those days when all you wanted to do was read an emotional story that would provoke you to tears? Sometimes you just have to let it out, right?! There are plenty of books that can make you cry but here are some of my favorite emotional dark romance reads.

Indebted Series by Pepper Winters

The first one is actually a whole series that will make you bawl your eyes out and your panties wet at the same time. The Indebted series by Pepper Winters tells the dark and twisted story of Jethro Hawk and Nila Weaver who fall for each other under the worst circumstances ever.
As a reader I really like the dark reads as they make my heart race and keep me on the edge of my seat. With most of the dark romance reads usually comes a bit of sweet and happy, but this certainly is not the case with the Indebted series. These books are very dark, highly erotic, gritty and sometimes hard to digest and they are soooo worth a read.

“I truly was Cinderella, only my prince threw away the glass slipper and stole me away before midnight struck. My prince was evil. My prince was the villain.”

Torn from You by Nashoda Rose

This next one is not for the faint-hearted as it is a mixture of dark romance and erotica with a pinch of sweet and soft in it.

One minute Emily is in love and giving her virginity to the very good-looking and kind-hearted musician Sculpt and the next she is abducted by strangers and wakes up in her own personal hell. Her only hope is being safed by Sculpt but then things really never turn out the way you expect.

“Maybe love couldn't be forgotten. But maybe, just maybe it could be smothered by hate.”

Archer's Voice by Mia Sheridan

The queen of emotional reads, Mia Sheridan, has made me cry many times. The most beautiful novel I have ever read by her was Archer's Voice which is a gripping tale of a painful past and healing love. Mia Sheridan really has the ability to convey strong emotions and vivid imagery trough her writing and it is absolutely captivating.
This one is absolutely a must read!

“I lost my heart to you. And, Bree, in case you're wondering, I don't ever want it back.”
5 out of 5 hankies

Ruin & Rule by Pepper Winters

Another one by Pepper Winters because this woman really knows how to write heart-wrenching dark romance that makes you want to sob, for whatever reason.
"She" has been kidnapped and is about to be sold....she doesn't know who she is or where she came from and only once in a while will a memory hit her. She hasn't got a name nor does she have a past. From the moment she meets her captor, Kill, her memory slowly starts to come back in little fragments. She feels a strong connection towards him and his intense pair of green eyes.

“I gave him everything that I was. I gave him all my troubles and dreams and flashbacks. I let him save me. And at the same time saved him.”
4 out of 5 hankies

Wild Rain by Christine Feehan

This oldie but goldie by Christine Feehan tells the story of Rachael and Rio who meet under horrible circumstances in the rain forest. This paranormal romance is about leopard people who live in the midst of the jungle far away from civilization and the threats of being exposed to humankind.
This novel is a thrilling ride through the survival of a leopard attack, torturous pain, fever and past life confusion.
5 out of 5 hankies

The Lovely Reckless - Kami Garcia

We get to know 17-year-old Frankie Devereux who would do anything to leave the past behind her. Especially the death of her last boyfriend which still haunts her every day. Ever since then she lives her life by one dangerous rule which is "Nothing Matters" anymore.
Cover of the new young adult novel "The Lovely Reckless! by Kami GarciaAfter one inexcusable mistake, Frankie is kicked from her school and moves to live with her father who lives a life faraway from her privileged one so far. There, her life changes drastically, not only because her father is an undercover cop who leads a very dangerous life but also because her new public school isn't anything like her old.

Of course she then meets the new and good-looking boy, Marco Leone, who happens to be the fastest street racer in the Downs, the city district she lives in.
Will Frankie be able to bring past events to a close and make a new start? Will she risk everything she has left and follow her heart?

This Young Adult novel has been released on October 4th 2016 and is available at Amazon US and from what I gathered the ebook (chapter 1-5) is for free!

The cover of the new young adult novel "Nemesis" by Anna Banks. Nemesis - Anna Banks

In all of the five kindoms, Princess Sepora of Serubel is known to be the last real Forger. She used her powers as a source to povide energy for her kingdom, but her father has now found a way to use Sepora as a weapon. She escapes her imminent future by fleeing to the kingdom of Theoria, where her plans to hide are foiled by the young king who captures her.

Tarik, who is the new leader of Theoria, already has his hands full and doesn't need a new troublesome servant trying to catch his eye. He has to learn the hard way that Princess Sepora will not be ignored. When both finally meet in person, they form an unexpected bond that complicates life in ways neither of them could have even imagined.

Sepora's gift might present itself as an advantage that has the ability to save Tarik’s kingdom, but should she risk exposing herself as well as her feelings for him?

Nemesis has been released on October 4th 2016 and is available on Amazon US in print and as an ebook

Romance author hits the nail on the head with release date around election day 2016

Katy Evans release of Mr. President

D-Day of the American elections 2016 in the US is near and so is the release date of the new romance novel by New York Times bestselling author Katy Evans. Whereas the presidential election leaves a rather foul taste in everyone's mouth, the novel arouses gleeful anticipation and hope of redemption for the disastrous campaign season.

“He is the man his father groomed and that a nation has waited for.”

Evans latest romance novel Mr. President is about the fictional presidential candidate Matthew Hamilton who tries to court his childhood friend and campaign assistant, Charlotte Wells, all while running for president. This proves to be a challenge for both of them as their feelings and affections towards each other grow. Will Hamilton become president? Will he break Charlottes heart?

“They called him prince when his father was alive, now he’s about to take the king’s throne.”

Evans says she didn't write the novel because of the upcoming elections but rather because she got inspired by John F. Kennedy Jr. whom she said would have made a great future president.
Even though she, at first, wasn't sure about the release date being around the time of election day, later decided to take that risk and just go for it.

The release date for Mr. President, which is part of the White House Duet duology, is set on October 31th 2016.

According to the Goodreads reviewers this romance novel has exceeded the expectations and if you want to know what I think about it then take a look at my Must-Reads for Autumn/Winter 2016 .

To-Read-List: Books for Autumn/Winter 2016

These are all the books I want and have to read in autumn and winter 2016There is a lot on my plate this autumn/winter season in regards to books. Some of them I have to read and most of them I want to read. I have been anticipating a few of them for a very long time and others just recently seated themselves on my plate. There is even a big variety of genres and authors which to me makes it all the more interesting and this is why I want to share my to-read-list with you.

To-Read-List / Autumn/Winter 2016

1. American Queen - Sierra Simone (published October 25th 2016)

This one looks really promising as does the cover and the synopsis sounds very interesting and right up my ally. I've never read anything by this author which makes this book all the more attractive. American Queen is going to be part of a trilogy and if you know me, you know I loooove book series because I always have a hard time saying goodbye to characters I really liked.
American Queen is available on Amazon US for 3,99$ and Amazon Germany for American Queen for 3,67€

2. Marriage Games - C.D. Reiss (published October 22nd 2016)

”I had no idea who I’d married. Had I been stupid and naïve, or shrewd?”
If this doesn't sound intriguing than I don't know what does!?!
I found out about this book through a Goodreads review of one of the people I follow on there. I have to admit that I usually don't like stories that much in which the couple has already been together, or even been married for a long time. I don't know why that is but it might be due to the fact that I'm not married or in a relationship myself and therefore can't relate to their problems?! However this book really catched my interest and curiosity.
Marriage Games  is right now only available on Amazon/Germany for 3,99€

3. Mr. President - Katy Evans (published October 31th 2016)

This one is an upcoming romance book release and the synopsis already sounds soooo good. Reviewers that had the luck to receive an arc are mostly suprised, even shocked about this book in the best way possible. I wanna know soooo bad what this is all about...only three more days to wait. I think the date of publication for "Mr. President" could not have been chosen any better with the upcoming elections in the US. Well done Miss Evans!
Mr. President is available on Amazon US for 3,99$ and Amazon Germany Mr. President for 3,55€

Oh, and if you're wondering which books I didn't choose to read voluntarily....well let's say the educational system in Germany made this decision for me. I will have to read Macbeth and The Tempest by William Shakespeare for a seminar in uni. This is actually not bad at all because I really wanted to learn more about Shakespeare and his plays.

So, this sums up my current to-read list for autumn and winter 2016. I'm really excited to read them all and hopefully be able to provide you with lovely reviews. Until then I promise to keep you posted about my progress.

Like Dark Reads? Try Fear Me By B.B. Reid

Do you enjoy dark reads as much as I do? One look on my Goodreads shelfs will reveal my passion for this genre. I don't know what it is to be honest but a little bit of angst, torture, romance and a pinch of erotica makes me delirious (in a good way).
One book I discovered last year was Fear Me by B.B. Reid.
Not only is the cover to die for, I mean who doesn't like nice abs, but the story in itself was really good. Click on the pic to see the ebook

When you first meet Keiran Masters all you will want to do is hit him in the face and tell him to get lost or run away and hide from him.......yes, that's how complex and dark his character is. Oh, and sorry to tell you but he doesn't get better, he get's worse. Still, I thought he was really hot...in a mean and hateful way that might scare you and turn you on at the same time.

Lake, the female protagonist, and victim of Keiran's "advances" is a really likeable character. She is not as whiney and weak as other female characters which is a nice change for once. She never ran from Keiran but stood her ground, even going eye to eye with him.

The plot kept me so gripped and I just couldn't put the book down. I really wanted everything to unravel itself and when it did well ...shit went down!
Keiran Masters from Fear Me by B.B. Reid and a quote from the book.

Fear Me is part of the Broken Love series by B.B. Reid which means there is more than just one book to read. Whoop Whoop!

New Blog Series "Favorite Books"

MsBooberella's book recommendations, liked quotes, book clubs, book trivia, book lists (favourite-books shelf)It is not a big secret that I really love books and enjoy reading a lot.....you probably enjoy it too or else you wouldn't be reading this right now. So, I thought it would be nice to start a new little mini series where I introduce you to my favorite books so far. By the way I have a whole Goodreads shelf full of favorites you might want to check out.

Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning

I think I read this all the way back in 2012 when I had just discovered the Goodreads platform and this book came up in my recommendation list.

Plot

This urban fantasy revolves around MacKayla, a sidhe-seer, who tries to dissolve the mystery of her sisters death. Left with just a few clues MacKayla travels to Ireland, where her sister last lived, just to find out she possesses a strange but strong power. Suddenly, all she can think about are different ways of staying alive while running away from creepy beings she never knew existed.
Until she meets Barons, an enigmatic and good-looking bookshop owner, who seems to have a whole lot of secrets and is interested in Mac's powerful abilities. That's when MacKayla turns from hunted to hunter and her journey turns into a dangerous game of hide and seek. Not only is her life at stake but the whole of humanity.

Why you should read it?!

This is by far one of my favorite book series not only because it kick-started my love for this particular genre but also because the protagonist is really likeable and well developed. This, by the way, applies to all the characters in the book series. I just think that Ms. Moning really knows how to write a good story as there are constant plot twists and change of pace that make her books always really captivating. Everything is written so well which makes you feel like you are part of the story yourself.
This is just the first book of the Fever series which guarantees a long and enjoyable ride with
lots and lots to read. So if you like urban fantasy/paranormal romance, unexpected plot twists, mean cliffhangers, a strong and funny heroine and Jericho Barrons (hot as f*** alpha-male) then you should definitely check it out.

Book Addict!

Spongebob is a book addict and likes to read T.M. Frazier
Even though I'm super tired from yesterday's reading marathon I can't seem to stop reading :) I just realised that T.M. Frazier's new book "Preppy: The Life & Death of Samuel Clearwater" has been released and I guess this coming night will be a short one as well.
Review to come....

Oh and by the way, I just created a Pinterest account and started my first pin board you might want to check out  My pin board

Credo by Nashoda Rose

This is the first Goodreads review I have ever written and I'm quite proud of it. I bought this long awaited ebook yesterday via Amazon. See for yourself whether or not it measured up to my expectations.

Credo (Scars of the Wraiths, #3)Credo by Nashoda Rose
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

5 long-awaited Stars

Caution: This is a book, which once you start to read it, you won't be able to put down! I read it in one go which led to quite some sleep deprivation (I certainly will take a nap today) and very unsettling hallucinations of hot and clean-limbed warriors ready to.......yeah, the side-effects really weren't so bad at all I guess.

This book also made me cry.....which is usually a very good sign!
It was an emotional rollercoaster ride that made me feel everything at once and right now I feel exhausted but very happy and finally satisfied after reading this book.

Ever since I read the first book of the Scars of Wrath series "Stygian" and got a glimpse of Waleron and Delara's story I became super intrigued with them. We only ever got little bits and and pieces of information about them which made me go crazy with curiosity.
In the end I'm glad the author took her time – even if it made me go wild with all the anticiption- and really made sure to tell their story in all its intricacy.

"My skin burned with need, pulsating with an intensity I'd never known existed... Christ, I wanted this woman. Not just once, but keep her close and never let go."

Finally we get to know Delara and Waleron's untold story.

We learn how they met decades ago, fell in love with each other and figured out that what they had was something really special. We also learn about the obstacles that keep them from each other. Will they be able to overcome those? Can they both accept that what they have and feel for each other is something that shouldn't be denied or fought against?

Waleron from Credo by Nashoda Rose who is in love with Delara Well, I guess you have to find out for yourself.

New Discoveries: K.Bromberg

"New York Times Bestselling author K. Bromberg writes contemporary novels that contain a mixture of sweet, emotional, a whole lot of sexy, and a little bit of real. She likes to write strong heroines, and damaged heroes who we love to hate and hate to love."
                                                                                                                      see author

Well, if that doesn't sound exactly like my cup of tea.

I discovered this author via my Goodreads recommendations and the ratings and reviews on her books are very promising. After a quick look through her bookshelf, I decided to go for Down Shift which is the newest member of her Driven series, but can be read as a stand-alone.

This story is about Zander Donovan a top racing champion who seems to be on top of his game. After several unexpected events, he is forced to take a step back and fight his demons for good.

Getty Caster is on the run from her past, fighting some demons of her own. She thinks she’s found the perfect escape—until she discovers a stranger in the beachside cottage she’d been promised. He’s undeniably sexy, but she’s there to heal. Alone.
Before long though, fighting with each other turns into fighting their attraction. And giving into desire sets off a chain reaction that has their pasts colliding. With an unexpected love on the line, can they overcome the fallout to build a future?

Well I don't know about you but this synopsis has me very intrigued and I'm definitely gonna read this now!

Highly anticipated book - Dollars by Pepper Winters

After reading the first book of the Dollar Series in July, which btw absolutely blew my mind, We can finally anticipate the second installment - Dollar$

After a series of unexpected setbacks (mostly involving health issues) the author, Pepper Winters, recently announced a rough release date: Mid-November

Excitement photo giphy 1_zpscazqvozv.gif

The Dollar-Series starts with Pennies which is about Tasmin, aka Pimlico, who lives a privileged and sheltered life in London.....at first. When she is abducted one evening, her existence as she knows it comes to an end. Tasmin becomes Pimlico, a sex slave.

Tasmin “At 18 I had pennies but money didn’t make me bold
At 19 I had dollars but it didn’t dull the pain of being sold
At 20 I had hundreds but then I met him and was found.
At 21 I had thousands, but all I wanted was to be bound.”

Now, afters years in captivity suffering unspeakable pain something changes her life again......or rather Someone!

First Touch by Laurelin Paige

This is going to be my first post on this blog, so bear with me. I just quickly wanted to review a book I've been reading and share my thoughts on it......so if you are into a bit of kink, romance and a whole lotta fucked-up-ness then keep on reading.

I just couldn't put down this glorious book and I read it in one go which meant very little sleep and a stiff neck for days. Laurelin’s writing gripped my heart, my body and my soul from start to finish. While reading this page-turner I’m pretty damn sure I felt every emotion humanly possible. AND THEN SOME! That’s how spectacular this book is!

"do you still have that blue raincoat?"

Seems innocent enough, but for Emily Wayborn that message has an important meaning. During her formative years, Emily and her best friend, Amber, decided on one word, a safe word, a cry for help, 'blue raincoat'.Unfortunately, Emily receives the message months too late, and Amber seems to have vanished.

Reeve has been linked to Amber, and Emily is determined to get close to him and find out what he knows. He has a questionable past, and may be the one responsible for Amber's disappearance, but Emily cannot resist the pull he has on her. Emily's seduction of Reeve has her facing some dark truths about herself and where her loyalty truly lies.

Emily and Reeve, both flawed and very secretive about their past, embark on a dangerous game of hide and seek.

..I can't get you out of my mind. You contaminate my thoughts. I keep remembering your body under my hands as I touched you. The parts of you I didn't touch. The sounds you made. The look in your eyes. You haunt me, Emily.
